Morning!
I first got hoodie samples all the way back in March and since then I’ve bounced between so many different manufacturers and plainclothes brands, to try and get the best quality garment and best print setup too.
Finally, I’ve picked one that I’m really happy with and I cannot understate how lovely and premium they are. Scroll right down to the bottom if they’re something you might be interested in 🔥
Anyway, C’mere to me…

Hottest Temperature Ever Recorded ☀🥵 (Possibly…)
An automated weather station in Californias Death Valley recorded a staggering temperature of 54.4 °C (130 °F), which if validated will be the hottest ever measure with modern instruments. All records must be evaluated by the World Meteorological Organisation based in Geneva, and it is not uncommon to have measurements downgraded. Read more - RTE.
Nike’s Vaporflys 👟
Involved in every major running milestone since 2016 and now banned on the track, long-distance athletes can’t afford not to wear Nike’s Vaporflys. Despite being sponsored by other brands, some are even blacking-out the Nike logo to wear them ‘in secret’…

Perspective.
Read up on Belarus.
I think this week is a wise wise time to read up on the events in Belarus.
In short, longtime president Aleksandr G. Lukashenko was re-elected in a supposed ‘landslide’ victory, claiming over 80% of the vote in what has been called a rigged election by the people of Belarus and many westerns nations.
Hundreds of thousands have come out to protest the man who has become known as ‘Europe’s last dictator…’
"We've held elections," he said. "Until you've killed me there won't be any new elections."

Whilst you should first read up on the facts, all news publications are covering it, I also recommend this opinion piece on why Belarus is different from other formally communist regimes in Eastern Europe, written in the centre-left Moscow Times.
“Belarus is different from all of these. There is neither an official mood for dialogue and change, as in Poland and Hungary; nor external restraint on domestic repression, as in Czechoslovakia and East Germany; nor the roiling pluralism of Serbia and Ukraine.”

“But there is one final factor that makes Belarus harder even than Romania. While a reforming Soviet Union had no wish to intervene in 1989, a resurging Russia might do so now, either directly or by providing some form of support for a crackdown.”

Worth a listen 🎙
‘Cancel Culture’ ❌
(In 3 Parts)
The New York Times runs a podcast called The Daily, and last week they produced a particularly interesting double episode on the internet phenomenon that is ‘cancel culture’.
And the previous week they spoke with Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey.
I would highly recommend listening to all three in a row, almost like a three-part series, as cancel culture particularly makes use of the Twitter platform.
The interview with Jack Dorsey also raises interesting points on how social networks are trying to deal with false information and the implementation of fact-checking solutions.
(Strangely Spotify does not yet allow podcasts to be embedded, but you can listen here!)
