Hey,
Surrounded by all the shit going on right now, just take a deep breathe and give this a read.
Now is a time to show a lot of kindness and empathy towards everyone.
Isolation is the way forward for the next few weeks, there’s no question about that.
However, times like this can have the knock-on effect of being very detrimental to our mental health.
We spend all day scrolling social media, which would be bad enough as it is, except that now our feeds are filled with floods of scary news, information and stats, what wouldn’t make someone anxious?…
We spend all day worrying about our health, the health of our families, and about our jobs & livelihoods.
To add to that, everything we had planned, everything we have been working towards has suddenly been cancelled.
It is devastating. Those travel plans you’ve had for months, that project you’ve been waiting to finish, that event you were excited to participate in, all stopped in their tracks.
And then suddenly the little things stop too. All your regular activities, classes, everything is cancelled. Suddenly the gyms aren’t open, the pubs and restaurants are shut, what is there left to do?
Firstly, it is okay not to be okay.
It is okay to be worries and scared.
If you’re anxious or need a friend you can honestly just reply to this email.
It is cliche to say, but a global pandemic really puts everything into perspective.
There are a million worse places I could be stuck in the world right now but instead I am cosied up at home.
Even within our own communities, we are the lucky ones.
We must not forget how fortunate we are, crisis like this can really wake you up to that.
If you are a doctor or a nurse, or anyone out dealing with this crisis, Thank you.
Truly Thank you.
C’mere to me…

I’ve got something exciting to share right down at the bottom of this email!
This Week
In the past year working for myself, I have actually become accustomed to spending hours at home alone, creating and editing.
So with the virus locking everyone in, I am not very far from my comfort zone.
Nevertheless, with absolutely zero client projects at the moment…
I am going to focus on:
Being creative, and just channelling that into whatever form it becomes.
Learning new skills, no major undertaking, just improving little things I said I wanted to get better at, a lot of software stuff with my industry.
Forcing myself to work on personal projects, getting those little things done that I have been putting off, videos I wanted to make, things that got hidden under client priorities.
Looking after my physical health, keeping up home and bodyweight gym sessions, drinking more water and just generally giving my immune system the best shot.
Spending time away from social media, setting app limits and timers, it can be a toxic place.
Overall, I am going to use this time to reset a little, review and rewrite some goals, take a step back and a deep breath - focus on my mental health.
I’ve always got so many mad ideas floating around, it is actually sort of exciting to have the opportunity to act on them for once.
C’mere to me is one such personal project, so is the podcast, the shop, my portfolio, social media & youtube, the booking system, my whole process is constantly evolving and can always use a lot of improvement.
I’ll be back with something interesting next week.
Look after yourselves, stay at home x
